Am I Crazy?

Went out for a 25 miler. Skies darkened, lightening and thunder and heavy rain. I took shelter in someone's garage. Lightening stopped but rain continued. 6 miles to home in the pouring rain. My wife thinks I'm crazy. Maybe some truth in that statement.

Back On Track

I returned from a relaxing few days at the Jersey Shore. Today's ride was on my favorite 50 mile loop. I took the Stratus as I have been further tweaking it. You couldn't ask for better weather. Temps in the low 80's, bright sunshine, light winds and no humidity. Doesn't get any better than this.

I have been a riding animal lately. Doing 30-50 plus miles daily in this intense heat is taking it's toll on me. My original plan for today was to join a 40-60 mile club ride at the shore. Although today's temps were much cooler and the sky was overcast, I couldn't get my mind or body motivated. I vegged out in front of the computer instead. My wife wanted bird seed and the dog needed some new toys. I took the Greenway out window shopping and picked up the needed supplies on an easy 10 mile ride. Tomorrow's forecast looks rainy. Saturday I hope to get out. Sunday we plan on getting away for a few days(no biking). Looks like I'll be chilling for a few days and recharging my batteries.

1st Stratus Club Ride

I met Andrie (ride leader), Kort and Al in Cranbury for what was to be a 48 mile ride. Those 3 amigos are pretty good riders, so it was a good test for how well the Stratus would fare. I am pleased to report I held my own. They did wait up for me after a few big climbs, but I was quick to catch up. It was a great ride and I was happy to have the company. After the ride I had some errands to run so onto the Greenway for another 8 miles.

New Old Bike

I just picked up a 2003 Rans Stratus. I wanted a bike that was a bit faster for club rides. The bike is like new in a beautiful 1 year only slate blue color. It rides like a dream especially with those fast Primo Comet tires. This bike brings back fond memories of my 2000 Stratus regrettably sold.

Hottest Day Of The Year

I rode 51 miles today with temps reaching 100 degrees. Slow and steady and lots of water was the theme. The reason for such insanity was to check out some Rans recumbents at Jersey Bents in Hamilton.

Fix A Flat

I rode 38 miles today in the heat to my favorite bike shop. I needed a couple of tubes for my grandson's bike.
